Standing at the Edge of Infinity
Gazing through the looking glass,
Your perceptions made askew;
Stare off into the abyss,
An enigma awaits you.
Discovering your true self,
Your eyes stare back from below;
Careful, lest you lose yourself
Going down the rabbit hole.
Reality is fickle,
Distorting all that we see;
Expect the unexpected;
Everything will cease to be.
Nature's blind to wealth and class;
Unto dust, thou shalt return;
Sell your soul for mounds of gold,
Watch your sordid empire burn.
I'm a ticking time bomb, ready to blow;
A raging whirlpool, spiraling into itself;
Just a disillusioned mind with nowhere to go,
I just don't care about morals, trends, or wealth.
Letting life slip through the palm of my hand;
I don't care anymore, I'm falling apart.
In the midst of it all, everything seems bland.
I want things to change, but I don't know where to start.
I hate society. I hate the human race.
Judgmental twats with hand-me-down beliefs;
I feel trapped, and I want out of this place.
I can't tolerate the dark side for life's scant reliefs.
I don't fit in with any stereotype or ideal,
And I'm glad that's the way I'll
I desperately wanted to speak, but my tongue was tied,
And I received no answers to all of my letters;
At the start, I thought my happiness forever died,
But every day it's getting a little bit better;
I can get it out of my head for a little while,
My insides no longer feel as unbearable;
Sometimes I can actually wear a genuine smile,
And I feel like life may not be so terrible.
In the beginning I diagnosed myself,
The signs were clear, I had every symptom;
I felt shattered alive at my transparent self,
And I knew all the things I thought, were dumb;
Every waking hour I could feel my stomach churn,
But the greatest pain came fro
I'm sick with despair.
I don't get why everything's so complicated.
I know you don't care,
Trying to convince myself you're overrated.
I want to be friends,
But I guess I have to respect your decision.
And while heart mends,
I can feel it falling into deep remission.
I know you don't feel like I do,
I can't seem to get over you.
I hate the way it has to be,
I wish you could be friends with me.
I really hate life,
But not always. most of the time I feel fine.
I don't want a wife,
But I want a companion, a friend, and a love.
Romance makes me sick,
I don't understand the charm people buy into.

We're all just people, trying to get on,
Trying to enjoy life until we're gone;
We're all in this together,
Sunny skies, frothy weather.
We are individuals,
Confused intellectuals;
Each with talents of our own,
And opportunities blown.
Seek objective truth, even with no clue.
There are a great many things we can do.
A pointless tower, but at such height!
We may be wrong, but it just feels right.
Even if it is all make believe,
No need to miss it all just to grieve;
Don't let yourself drive down another's road.
You must find and deliver your own load.
Don't let yourself be judged by another's measure.

Descend from the womb to a world of wealth;
Be a drone, needlessly prolonging health,
Live life in the fast lane, unaccomplished,
Alienated or impoverished.

Society powered by ignorance,
With no chance for those who sit on the fence;
Freedom comes at a high price; we're all fools;
People are fickle, monetary tools.
Venereal thoughts, sweet expressions,
Flirtation, fun, romantic concessions.
Every sexual being feels this way,
Do not deny, it's a natural play.
Attraction is not something we can choose.
Write the joy of winning, the fear to lose.
Do not let the poetry delude you,
It is nothing but humanity's screw.
Love is a buzz word, no rational thought.
It is with nature this feeling begot,
It will make fools of us all, but who cares?
Yet as social creatures, it pulls and tears.
Look at us - we're a ridiculous race.
Slaves to the allure of another's face;
We are an experiment of nature.
It is our instinct which desires nurture.

Where does it all come from?
And where's it all headed?
Convention is for some,
Tradition'ly wedded.
We came up with these things,
Do they have real meaning?
The worlds everyone brings;
Ice cubes in tea, melting.
Conservatism will die.
By custom, he believes;
The youth will wonder why,
Unlike a tree's spring leaves.
Yet some things seldom change,
Ideas are retained.
Is it not somewhat strange?
Some beliefs are not strained.
Our symbolism misplaced,
Concepts we came up with;
All the new things we've faced,
Heads stuck in the zenith.
Customs and traditions,
Just blind superstitions.
Humanity is despicable.
A festering tumor on a God-forsaken planet,
Treating all other beings as if they are inferior.
It's destruction, unthinkable;
But not once it's dealt from the deck.
Bureaucracy,
I hate the way it all plays out;
Diplomacy,
But we're dealing with a crisis;
Emergency,
Forget the rules and do something;
There's urgency!
Bystanders bear guilty conscience.
Don't fall prey to systemic masters,
Don't hold off in stopping disasters.
Different events and different places,
Make for entirely different cases.
Autocracy,
Falls at the hand of its people;
Theocracy,
Insanity is at the helm;
Plutocracy,
Civil order is tumbling down;
Hypocrisy!
Thank you, "defenders of freedom."
Drag your feet and let good people die.
"It's more complicated than that." Why?
This is not an unwanted venture,
And it's
